ABOUT RAI

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew my brain was built to create and my hands were built to make. My journey into the jewellery world grew organically whilst studying my Bachelor of Design in Product Design at UTS. It was at this time that I had the privilege of starting work as a junior designer in a high end jewellery store in Sydney’s prestigious Strand Arcade, and discovered that I had a real curiosity for gemstones and jewellery design.

After completing my degree, I felt a calling to pursue my passion for jewellery and consolidate with further studies specifically in Jewellery Manufacturing at TAFE Design Centre Enmore which I undertook in 2020 and completed in 2021. My time at TAFE was celebrated in 2022 as I was honoured with the overall achievement across two cohorts for ‘Consistently Outstanding Skills at Jewellery Making’ at the graduate show.

Jewellery by Rai was founded in 2022 from a love of jewellery, and a talent in designing and making. I like to think of my style as creative and forward thinking, classically influenced yet contrasted with a playful use of colour. However I also wanted to have Rai as a platform to share beautiful pieces and open up the dialogue for others to create their own tailored piece. Creating your own heirloom or token of love is infinitely special. As a qualified bench jeweller and designer with 9 years of industry skills and expertise in jewellery design, gemstone and diamond selection and professional client relations, I welcome you to my store.

If you wish to see a selection of handmade pieces in person, I casually trade at Paddington Markets on Oxford Street. I update my collection regularly with new handmade product and my market dates are shared on Instagram when I next trade.
